The types of bet are varied. We explain below a not exhaustive list of possibilities of bets. Some Bookmakers choose to diversify the types of proposed bets, whereas others prefer to specialize on certain types of bets. |
| 1) A simple bet. |
| | It is a bet about the outcome of a game (1 coupon, 1 game). In the standard situation, three possibilities are expected: (1) victory at home; ( N ) draw; (2) victory away.
For some cases, in Basketball for instance, the draw case is excluded (due to additionnal time) and we have to choose between only two possibilities (1) or (2). |
| 2) Double chance. |
| | This system of bet allows you to bet on two possibilities among three, with a single odds (ex: 1 or N, N or 2 and 1 or 2). |
| 3) Combinations (combos). |
| | When we have several games on a coupon, it is possible to make a bet on the outcome of every game and to bet on the combination of these bets. That means that you consider that all bets on the coupon will be winning. The earnings will be determined by the stake multiplied by the product of the various combined odds. |
| 4) The systems (accumulators). |
| | A bet " X-fold " is winning if you have at least X good results on X+1 games. Example: one 4-fold corresponds to an objective of 4 good results on 5 games; the basic stake will then be multiplied by 5. For one 3 over 5, the basic stake will be multiplied by 10. With this type of bets, we reduce the risks, but we increase the costs. In other words, the risk of occurrence is decreased, but the financial risk is increased. |
| 5) Handicap. |
| | When there is a great difference in level of the teams involved in a game, the corresponding bet is unbalanced. The team with less performance will obtain an advance of one or several goals (or points) in a bet with handicap. The prescribed goals (or points) are added to the real score for the result of the bet. Example: Sunderland (+1) v Manchester United (-1). Sunderland begins the match with 1 goal beforehand, whereas Manchester United has a goal of delay. |
| 6) HT (Half Time). |
| | In that case, it is a question of assessing the result of a match, in the term of half-time. |
| 7) HT-FT (Half and Final Time). |
| | In such a bet, the results at half-time and in the term of the final time are expected. |
| 8) Final Score. |
| | We have to predict the final score of the games. (Ex: 0-0, 1-0, 0-1 or 1-1). |
| 9) Live bet. |
| | For the previous cases, bets are closed in some seconds (or minutes) by the beginning of the event. With live bets, betting can be also made during the games, the odds being naturally straightened according to the evolution of the scores. |
| 10) Even / Odd. |
| | This type of bet concerns the total goals (or points) registered by both teams. Even : 0-0, 1-1, 2-0, etc. Odd : 1-0, 0-1, 2-1, etc. |
| 11) Over / Under. |
| | It is another type of bet on the total goals registered by both teams, but a little different from the previous. Example: Over 2,5 goals : 2-1, 3-0, 3-1, etc. Under 2,5 goals : 0-0, 1-0, 0-1, 1-1. |
